Our Future Plans
Future projects for 2021-22
Protecting your personal data
The PPG is currently working with the Practise to understand the Implications of the mass Opt-out programme with regards to NHS Data. Our aim is to ensure that personal data is not shared unless it is explicitly agreed to by the Owner of that information. Communication plans will be created to try to notify as many Patients as possible.
New premises for BEWGMC Surgery
The BEWGMC is planning to move into premises which are much more suited to the kind of facilities needed by a growing community. The PPG looks forward to supporting this project and ensuring that the needs of the Community are well documented and form an integral part of the process to making this major facilities update, fit for purpose.
Better health outcomes for long term and chronic illness
The PPG has identified that with chronic and lifetime illness there is sometimes a lack of information (over and above medication) to be able to advise Patients on achieving their peak health for their condition. The PPG aims to set up a core group to look at management of long term health problems from the patient perspective with the aim of faster diagnosis by GPs (in the initial stages of diagnosis) and a subsequent reduction in the number of visits needed. This is proposed through delivering a deeper understanding of complex conditions from the Patient to the GP, as well as supporting patients with self-help options such as condition-specific diets, key information about their condition, associated symptoms etc. The aim is to achieve better long term health outcomes by creating ‘expert’ Patient groups for feedback to GPs as well as sharing knowledge and self help.
